Golden Earth in collaboration with Dr. Tejsvi Kamble (Well Being Elder Care) conducted Fitness and Yoga workshop on the occasion of International Yoga Day, on 21st June 2020 especially for senior citizens. The duo Dr. Tejsvi and Sonali together created a simple and effective workshop that’s great for daily practice for senior citizens.

The purpose of this workshop was to inspire senior citizens to take up yoga as a form of exercise for holistic health. It was also to share simple tools from a  specialist in elder care to maintain body and mind balance. Chair Yoga asanas and other gentle floor yoga asanas and breathing practices were introduced to the participants.The idea was to work on reducing stress and allow a feeling of internal bliss to take root using simple props to increase vitality and healing.

Participants aged from early 60’s to almost 80 years attended this event. The event was conducted online on zoom and was very effective in imparting practical knowledge to seniors for daily living.” The yoga asanas were easy to practice as we used the chair. Sonali has a very gentle and easy way in which she led the session. Dr Tejsvi also had some easy walking tools for balance.We would love to attend more such sessions in future! ”, stated one of the senior participants.

The event received a wonderful response with from our seniors citizens  participating from various parts of the country.
